About

Hi, I'm Lisa!

I'm a twenty-year-old freshman at the Kansas City Art Institute planning to enter the Animation major. I've been using and experimenting with digital art since 2005, and have been interested in the arts for even longer. I'm the youngest of three children, and an aunt to a lovely little three-year-old boy. I was born in southern Iowa and lived there all my life - the community I lived in is a great place to grow up, but not a place for an out-of-place college aged woman to live her life!

I'm currently battling some social anxiety issues, and in person I can be a bit of a boring person to talk to. I'm much more of a listener, however online I can talk up a storm if you get me on the right topic. (Usually something silly and Pokemon related will do the trick.)

I've had experience using many mediums of flat-paper art, including digital (Photoshop, PaintTool SAI, MyPaint), colored pencils, painting, ink, and graphite. I'm not exactly very craft or artisan inclined (though I have been told I should consider sculpture, ha!) While I'm far from a tech support, I'm also skilled in some very basic Windows computer care... the kinds of computer care that everyone should know!

I adore animated shows and movies! I'm still a bit of a kid at heart when it comes to television and film. My favorite show is Avatar: The Last Airbender, and my favorite animated movie is The Iron Giant. I also love Pixar films, the animated Disney films from the 90s, and BBC's Sherlock series.

Also, I love my maroon hat.

I hope you enjoy my art blog! I'm usually open for commissions, if you'd like to take a peek at my prices, just check out the commissions page!

If you'd like to see my more informal side, here are some sites you may consider:

My Tumblr. Be warned - I tend to reblog a lot of political things as of lately! If a bunch of very liberal reblogs along with silly gif spam sounds like your cup of tea, then give me a follow.

My deviantArt. You can see a lot of my older work here if you browse through the gallery. I don't plan to use this a lot for more formal postings.
